Sailing with Aniara II

Some years back, a couple of middle aged men, or grown-up boys, started to dream about crossing the Atlantic.

Now this dream is closer than ever and our 2700 nautical mile long trip will start from the Canary Islands on November 20, 2011.

Our way to the Canary Islands will go from Sardinia, Italy, through the Mediterranean Sea, passing Menorca, Mallorca, Ibiza, Allicante, and a number of other interesting places. We will leave Sardinia on September 19, so from this day on you might find som progress reports from us.

Hopefully we will land on Saint Lucia in The Caribbean, before Christmas the same year.

After reaching Saint Lucia we will spend some lacy and relaxing months in Caribbean, crusing from island to island.

Sometime during the spring, 2012, will we start our way back to Europe, crusing through the British Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Azores and Gibraltar.

If you are interested to follow our trip, please mark this homepage as your favorite. As soon as we ourselves manage the communication system on the Boat and Sea, we will keep the it updated with daily logs.

Aniara II is equipped with an AIS-system, which means that you will be able to see where we are at any time. Click on the symbol, Our Position, and you will be instructed what to do.
